lore

Typed project notes that tell a coding agent which specs and decisions apply before it edits a file.

TypeScript · Bun · CLI

Before an agent (or a person) edits a file, it should know which specs, decisions and module notes apply to it. lore answers that from plain Markdown in the repo: ask it about a file and it lists the notes that govern it, why each one matched, and which earlier decisions they replaced.

There is no index, no database, no embeddings and no network. Every command reads the working tree, so the answer is never stale.

Why it’s here

This is how I run agent-assisted projects. Specs and decisions get written down next to the code they govern, so the agent works from the same context I do, and when a project ends you keep the reasoning along with the code.

Install it with Homebrew (brew install apisandipas/lore/lore) or as a standalone binary.
